Revolutionizing “Chemo”

Description
Part of the award winning public television series Healthy Body/Healthy Mind. Chemotherapy has a tough reputation, but enduring the treatment isn’t what it used to be. Advances in the control of side-effects are making “chemo” more tolerable. Traditionally, some patients were forced to quit or delay therapy because of these side effects… in turn, making them more vulnerable to their cancer. Today, advances in chemotherapy are making treatments more effective with fewer side effects and more often then not, allow patients to work and be active during their treatment. There’s hope with today’s Chemotherapy.

I’m 46 and found out I have lung cancer. What are my chances of survival with only radiation &chemo treatment?

They say my cancer is about the size of a grape right now.I want them to operate but, they say my lungs are to bad.I’m just starting out and its a slow growing cancer. My mom had the same thing about 18 months ago. They took hers out and shes been cancer free since.I’m scared though because my 41 yr.old sister died last July 06 from cancer.Hers was spead though her body.Different kind I think.I’m not wealthy so I can not travel to get alot of different kinds of help.I live in Ohio. Can I survive with only radiation or chemo?
