They say my cancer is about the size of a grape right now.I want them to operate but,they say my lungs are to bad.I’m just starting out and its a slow growing cancer.My mom had the same thing about 18 months ago.They took hers out and shes been cancer free since.I’m scared though because my 41 yr.old sister died last July 06 from cancer.Hers was spead though her body.Different kind I think.I’m not wealthy so I can not travel to get alot of different kinds of help.I live in Ohio.Can I survive with only radiation or chemo?

My father stays really sick already. Now with the lung cancer which is stage one he has got worse. Surgery is out because his doctor says he wouldn’t survive it. He is to start chemo and radiation treatments soon. I just am afraid his body is too weak to take the treatments. Need advice

My mother was diagnosed on March 9th 2007 with stage 3b non small cell lung cancer. She had a PET scan and they found another possible tumor in her neck. The cancer has spead into her lymph nodes and she has undergone almost 3 weeks of radiation and 1 week of chemo. Her white blood cell count is extremely low so they have terminated all treatment until they come back up. She started losing her hair on Thursday and by the end of the day it was all gone.

My mother in law has just found out she has lung cancer and a tumor in her lung. She will be getting surgery to remove the tumor tomorrow. What are the chances of everything being okay? Will she have to take radiation or chemotherapy afterwards? I would like to get input from anyone that has gone thru this experience. She is very scared and was a smoker for 22 years. Any information is more than welcome.

I’ve taken 2A&P classes and Patho. so far working towards my degree where I’ve had some study regarding this cancer. And none of what my textbook showed looks like what he’s been diagnosed with!? He had no lesions on his body, nothing similar to skin cancer. Just had a swollen ‘gland’ on his neck, we thought was linked to a cavity. Dentis put him on antibiotics, treated the cavity, and it didn’t go away. Went to Dr., scheduled removal/biopsy. Dr. removed 3 lymph nodes, said came back as SCC. Immediately had tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy to find primary. Were negative. Had roof of mouth/tongue biopsy. Tongue tested positive. Has now began radiation and Chemo. Is very nausious of course from the chemo as to be expected. Refused feeding tube, and is doing fine eating sensibly. He is 49, never smoked a cigarette in his life, and is alcohol and drug free. What is the expected outcome/survival rate for this type of cancer? I’m trying to do more research to decipher the ’sugar coating from Dr’s

My father is 80 and has not smoked for 30 years. He was just diagnosed with Small Cell lung cancer and will be undergoing an aggressive chemo/radiation therapy. Can an individual get lung cancer after not smoking for 30 years or do you think there is another variable causing the cancer?

She’s only 21 years old, and found a lump on her breast this week. She’s been examined and having surgery today to remove the lump. She told me that she’ll be having radiation therapy afterward. But she wants to have children in the future. Will she be able to become pregnant after radiation therapy?
