i understand radiation, and that gamma rays are not stopped by our skin – they can only be stopped by something with a density similar to that of very thick lead, and that they mutate DNA somehow, but could someone explain how?

Also cause your skin to look like leather as you age, but what does the radiation do to your internal organs???????

I worked for veterinarians for 25 years. I was an assistant then later a tech. I had so much skin cancer on my face and forearms. We were as careful as we could be when doing the x-rays. We wore our tags and lead aprons. Still the thought occurred to me this might have been why I had such deep skin cancer. I know sun damage would be common to those areas but I used to lay in the sun and why am I not having the skin cancers on my back too? That is where I always got burned. I started the Veterinarian job in 68 quit in 94 that is a lot of being around and using the x ray machine. Thoughts? Not trying to start trouble just wondering if this could have been a factor. The cancer is all cleared up now. :^)

Thanks Dave, since we were behind no doors and actually holding the animals leaning into what we called the horn. I could see it getting my face and arms exposed. Lots of times just a lead glove was laid over our hands. And with a wigging animal it would slip at the wrong time. Nothing on my arms.

So many people asked me why I had so much deep skin cancer on my face and arms. It has puzzled me for a long time and then just yesterday I got to thinking about the radiation exposure. Also when I was young there was some radiation done on my hands for a skin condition. Later it turned out to be a nervous thing causing it. Sigh. So even more radiation.

I understand that even cell phones can give off enough radiation to give you a brain tumor and a tv can also radiate you if watched too close. I t does not make sense that radiation can cure cancer but this seems to be the standard cure for most cancers.Please explain the differences between getting cancer and curing cancer using the same medium.

With the number of cancer patients increasing everyday, does microwave radiation in any way cause cancer? does the radiation affect the food and which in turn if consumed, pose a health hazard?

if plastic is not good, then how safe is ‘rubber maid’ and other branded containers? or should we use only ceramic or glass bowls.

is standing near the microwave also dangerous and exposes us to radiation.

what is the concept behind microwaving. what radio waves are used. how is it that food is heated from centre to outside?

an egg with the shell bursts if microwaved. but even a hard boiled cold egg if re-heated bursts.

should we use microwave only for defrosting, thawing or re-heating?

How are they related(does radiation cause cancer)?
Radiation such as mircowaves and what not.
