What is more likely to cause lung cancer? Second-hand smoke, or radiation?
My friend’s mother won’t let her come out to visit me in the summer because I live in California and she thinks that the radiation from Japan will cause lung cancer. We’re trying to piece together an argument to prove her wrong. So what is more likely to cause lung cancer? Radiation from 5,478 miles away, or second-hand smoke?
If radioactivity can cause cancer, do cancer radiation treatments radiate the people around the patients?
Thus increasing the cancer risk to the general population?
I became a diabetic right after reast cancer radiation. Could that be the cause?
Ther is no diabtic history in my family. I was not over weight.
That is breast cancer. Can’t spell
Do you believe that sunscreen protects you against cancer or does it cause cancer?
Ok, here it goes guys. The sunscreen industry makes money by selling lotion products that actually contain cancer-causing chemicals. It then donates a portion of that money to the cancer industry through non-profit groups like the American Cancer Society which, in turn, run heart-breaking public service ads urging people to use sunscreen to “prevent cancer.”
The scientific evidence, however, shows quite clearly that sunscreen actually promotes cancer by blocking the body’s absorption of ultraviolet radiation, which produces vitamin D in the skin. Vitamin D, as recent studies have shown, prevents up to 77 of ALL cancers in women (breast cancer, colon cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, brain tumors, multiple myeloma… you name it). Meanwhile, the toxic chemical ingredients used in most sunscreen products are actually carcinogenic and have never been safety tested or safety approved by the FDA.
What do you think?
Mr. William T. I beg to differ. Yes sun burn sunscreen existed before it was announced that it prevented cancer, as soon as it was anounced that it would prevent skin cancer, sales took off at the speed of skin cancer. Oooppss..
What is the damage that the depletion of the ozone layer can cause?
The UV radiation can harm crops, animals, humans, and the enviroment, in what ways? Ex., skin cancer in people. I need a reliable source(s). If you can have links to reliable sources, pleaae.
At what point does UV radiation cause permanent damage?
I know that UV radiation damages the skins causing it to first tan and later burn. This damage is cumulative and can lead to wrinkles, cancer, and other health problems. I find it hard to believe that just stepping outside for 5 minutes would be enough to cause permanent damage so at what point is this damage become permanent? When you burn? After you’ve become heavily tanned? or is tanning itself proof of permanent sun damage?
Does breast cancer cause a skin rash?
Had surgery (lumpectomoy) 13 years ago; no chemo or radiation.
Ovarian cancer – is radiation therapy common treatment and if so, does it cause seizures???
I work in a very small firm and a young girl has been using outrageous excuses for being out sick…ovarian cancer (radiation therapy is now causing seizures), bad back aches (now getting cortisone shots…caused from moving one weekend)….among so many others (like death of parents and grandparents). The cancer and seizures just broke the camel’s back — by the way, she was running late a couple of weeks ago and said she had a seizure on the way to work (while driving)….but she came to work — not disheveled or sickly looking!
I haven’t chosen a best answer yet because today, we found out that the girl is having seizures due brain-swelling caused by the steroids she is taking for Lupus (new illness) and that she is going in for surgery to alleviate the swelling (this will be a “out-patient” procedure)….it is never-ending.
Does (lung) cancer, chemo, and/or radiation cause symptoms of dementia?
Or just coincidence?
